Building a Brighter Tomorrow with the Infinite Horizons Foundation

There’s something special about the Comox Valley - a sense of openness, generosity, and possibility. It’s that spirit that inspired Corey Sawchuk and Amanda Conly to build the Infinite Horizons Foundation; a homegrown philanthropic initiative rooted in gratitude and a desire to give back.

A Foundation Inspired by Community

When Corey and Amanda first arrived in the Valley, they didn’t know a soul. What they did know was that they wanted to be part of something meaningful. As Amanda recalls, the community welcomed them with warmth and trust - a gesture that stayed with them. That early support sparked the idea of creating a long-lasting legacy focused on helping others thrive.

Over time, what began as a dream grew into the Infinite Horizons Foundation: an endowment-based model designed not just for today’s needs, but for tomorrow’s possibilities. Their guiding belief? That a far horizon isn’t a limit - it’s a goal worth striving toward.

Where the Foundation Focuses Its Energy

The Foundation directs its efforts into five key areas - each chosen because it strengthens the Island in a meaningful, lasting way:

Youth

Young people are the future of Vancouver Island. The Foundation supports initiatives that give them access to mentorship, learning opportunities, and growth experiences that help set the stage for strong, confident futures.

Healthcare

No community thrives without reliable access to care. By supporting local healthcare initiatives, the Foundation helps improve services close to home, easing strain and supporting the overall wellness of residents across the region.

Environment

Climate change, habitat pressures, and environmental degradation are real challenges for the Island. The Foundation invests in stewardship efforts that protect ecosystems, encourage sustainable practices, and preserve the natural beauty that defines Vancouver Island.

Community Programs

Strong communities don’t just happen - they’re built through connection, support, and shared effort. From afterschool programs to community centers, the Foundation backs local work that strengthens the social fabric of the Comox Valley and beyond.

Educational Scholarships

Education is one of the most powerful tools for change. Through scholarships, the Foundation helps students pursue their goals, opening doors that create a ripple effect of opportunity.

How the Foundation Creates Long-Term Impact

At the core of Infinite Horizons is its endowment fund - a sustainable financial model that keeps giving year after year. Every donation becomes part of a carefully managed pool of capital, with investment income distributed annually to local partners, programs, and initiatives. A portion is reinvested to ensure long-term growth.

The Foundation also operates a Charitable Gift Fund as part of the RBC Charitable Gift Program, allowing donors to contribute in a way that aligns with both their values and long-term philanthropic goals.

Showing Up for the Valley

The Foundation doesn’t just support causes quietly - it’s actively involved in local events and traditions. From contributing to the beloved Earl Naswell Community Christmas Dinner to supporting the local Food Bank, it consistently shows up for the community in tangible, heartfelt ways.

These aren’t just donations. They’re expressions of gratitude - a way of giving back to the place that gave Corey and Amanda a sense of belonging all those years ago.

Looking Toward Infinite Horizons

Today, the Infinite Horizons Foundation stands as a reflection of what’s possible when generosity becomes a way of life. By investing in youth, healthcare, the environment, community programs, and education, the Foundation is helping build a stronger, kinder, more resilient Vancouver Island.

And perhaps most importantly, it’s creating a legacy rooted not in buildings or monuments - but in people.

A future built from compassion.
A community strengthened by connection.
A horizon full of possibility.
